Today, I come back for shopping tips in San Francisco, shopping Mecca.
I do love shopping and I even feel great joy when I bring a lot of shopping bags on my way home haha:) Maybe, most of women feel like that, right?
I'm not gonna let u go only downtown and just spend money even though there are more options for you cuz U haven't heard about them before.
So, I'm gonna share with u guys about shopping places.
1. Union Square
Union Square now |
Macy's in front of Union Square |
"Union Square" is the third largest retail area in the US. Macy's, Saks, Nieman Marcus, Victoria's Secret, Levis, Nike, Disney and the A-list of famous designers. With the huge Christmas tree and lively atmosphere from Union Square in all directions, from people from all over the world, U could experience the unique character of SF shopping district. Also, when u get tired while shopping, u can take a rest at Union Square for charging ur energy! No problem!!
2. Westfield San Francisco Center
Fresh from a more than size, Westfield(located at Powell Station), with its 4 story Nordstrom on high, and grand rotunda below, is now even more of a shopaholic's dream, including a brand new Bloomingdales. Food court, Century Theater multiplex, a Bristol Farms gourmet grocery store etc at Westfield. Especially in the winter, it's perfect to go shopping to many branded stores at once(Westfield, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom) if u don't like get cold.
3D Light show under the Dome |
From july11-September3, there used to be a 3D light show under the Dome with a music. It was really cool to watch it but not anymore. But, If you stay more here, definitely U could observe it at night in the near future.
3. Fillmore Street
Known as Lover Pacific Heights, Fillmore street is teeming with lots of cafes, restaurants, jewelry, stationery shoes, fashion, and salons. It feels like Apgujeong San Francisco(Apgujeong is in Korea) that you can find many boutiques there and stylish fashion.
totally different style than building in Korea. 1st floor, Store and 2st flr, house. |
From 2 months ago, they r waiting for Christmas |
I found the bookstore at Fillmore! |
In the USA, they look different despite the same franchise |
4. Union Street and Marina
When I went to Fillmore, I found another shopping district on the way back home.
Dozens of fashion boutiques, jewelers, and a few salons line both sides of Union Street from Gough to Fillmore. There are also a few places to eat and then drink after shopping. Down the hill 4 blocks, Chestnut's commercial row starts at Fillmore and continues west, similar to Union St, but with more of an emphasis on food and neighborhood merchants.
5. Haight Ashbury
I went there 11 months ago when I was traveling in SF and I heard about the Hippie culture. It's good to feel their unique atmosphere walking down the street and checking small cafes.
This area maintains its bohemian ambience and remains thriving center of independent local businesses. Anti-fashionistas can still get used and unique clothes. There are organic groceries and foods to go, and an eclectic variety of little shops selling collectibles and mementos.
6. Chinatown
Walking Grant Street through Chinatown may give you a little feel for what it is like to go to Hong Kong, but taking a left along Pacific and another left on Stockton will be an even more intense cultural awakening. Packed with many gift shops with super cheap price, of course,Chinese restaurants(* If U wanna eat Dimsum, U should go for a lunch time), photo studios, salons, almost everything over there with super super cheap price and with a little bit weird smell. If U r a student, it's a good way to use the biggest Chinatown in the USA. For instance, copying a key is just 0.85 cent, $12 for salon(including a tip), $18 for visa photo.
