Where can I buy for FOOD & DAILY NECESSITY?[Market&Grocery Store]

Market & Grocery Store

Where can I buy for food or daily necessities?

When you get here to San Francisco at first, you don't know exactly where a grocery market is or how many good markets there are. We might just hear from someone "You can go to Safeway or Walgreen". That's all info we gather until then.

HOWEVER,

Hey guys, That's not enough information for us to be a wise purchaser. We need more information to be wise, to be healthy and to be more delightful with a reasonable price, don't we?
Then, Let's see which one is the best option for us:)

1. Safeway

This is the most typical supermarket chain in San Francisco you can easily come up with to buy your food and daily necessities. It's the first grocery store I went in San Francisco, too. Safeway is North America's second largest supermarket chain located throughout the western and central United States and western Canada. Safeway is located conveniently in each area so that you can find them pretty easily.

Not that really cheap(Compare to Ralph's in San Diego) but you can find a good deal to use a membership card and week/weekend hot sale on particular  items.

Safeway Locations in SF
Membership Card, U can start a membership for free.

2. Trader Joe's - "Your neighborhood grocery store"

Personally, I love TRADER JOE'S more than Safeway. Unlike typical grocery stores, Trader Joe's sells many items under its own private labels. Vegetables and fruits are so so so fresh and environmentally friendly.

Compared to Safeway, they are not that expensive with that price even though they are organic. And, U have different kinds of food items you can try where you have more options. These are your OPTIONS. You could try to cook a new cuisine or just buy unusual frozen foods. I don't usually buy frozen foods but they have lots of unusual frozen foods I can try and I've tried lots of different yummy frozen CHICKENS! Cuz I love chickens hehe:)

*Products sold : gourmet foods, organic foods, vegetarian food, unusual frozen foods, imported foods, domestic and imported wine and beer, "alternative"food items, staples like bread, cereal, eggs, dairy, coffee, and produce.

* Non-food items : Personal hygiene products, household cleaners, vitamins, pet food, plants, and flowers.

The symbol

I think everything is better than Safeway regarding  a freshness, quality, specialty, and even price but Meat items including a sausage are more expensive than Safeway. Also, if you need a salad for a quick lunch or dinner, much more yummy salads than Safeway.

The Locations, BUT, Be careful!!! the one in Nob Hill(D) is not open yet!!!!

**My Conclusion : If U need food, Go to Trader Joe's. In the case of the daily necessities, you can go to Safeway, though.

3. Target

This city Target just showed up near Powell station which is the heart of SF downtown. Here, pretty much everything else, including fresh food, iPads and e-readers, books, clothes, coffeemakers, bedding, smaller packs of paper towels and toilet tissue.

They are seeing shoppers buying fewer items, but buying more frequently there at these stores.

Actually, I have never visited there yet because they are pretty new. But, my friend said to me "Cereal item is cheaper than other places". If U wanna stop by a store and buy a few things after working or shopping in downtown but Safeway and Trader Joe's is far and Walgreen is a little bit expensive to buy all U think, then Go to Target!! just 2 blocks from the Powell station.

4. Farmer's Market

In SF, you can not only buy food but enjoy organic environment with nice vendors. U can't think of a better way to spend a day in the Farmer's Market which features tons of fresh produce, lots of arts and crafts, specialty food with endless samples and of course food stands.

Here, U will be excited about vivid atmosphere at Farmer's Market where U could meet people, communicate with them, enjoy foods with lots of samples as much as U can. Not that cheap but it's worth it !!

5. China Town

If u r a student and u have to spend money on a budget, this chinatown option would be a good option for you. They are super cheap but not that good quality. Sometimes, If u r lucky, u can find a fresh item  but u have to devote ur time to find. So, If u wanna buy something at these grocery market in Chinatown, I would recommend to go early to get fresh food.

6. Walgreen/ CVS/ 7 Eleven

If u don't have enough time to go to Other options, just go to them. U can find anywhere around u, especially at a busy street. a little bit more expensive than Safeway, but there is no option if u don't wanna go too far.

7. Woori Market/ Kukje Market
(Korean Grocery Store)

If u wanna cook Korean food, u can take a bus 38 and go to Woori market(우리식품)easily near Japan town. But, If U have a car, it's better to go to Kukje Market located in Daly City cuz it's cheaper and bigger than Woori. Woori is a tiny korean grocery store near downtown.
Why don't you cook Korean food tonight for a dinner?
